Liverpool shareholder LeBron James tells club to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona

The Cleveland Cavaliers star became a shareholder in 2011 in exchange for allowing a subsidiary of the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the right to become his exclusive worldwide agent.
And now, according to Mundo Deportivo, he has told FSG he feels they should open negotiates with Barcelona over Coutinho and allow him to leave Anfield before the end of the transfer window.

The Catalan club are believed to be readying one final big-money offer, a bid that will greatly exceed the £97 million initial fee that convinced Borussia Dortmund to sell Ousmane Dembele.
Liverpool are still hoping to keep Coutinho, though the Brazilian – having already handed in a transfer request – has now asked to be omitted from their Champions League squad.
The former Inter playmaker has missed both of Liverpool’s opening Premier League fixtures, and their Champions League qualifier, with both a back injury and a virus.
He posted a picture of himself in the club’s latest kit on Instagram, but removed it shortly after, while he has visited Barca’s training base, and hung out with star players such a Lionel Messi, on several occasions.
